Awesome marina and a really fantastic restaurant.

Excellent marina. Staff was exceptional. Restaurant was the best. The overall facility was very clean, and everyone was very accommodating. Will definitely return for more visits and bring our boating friends.

Great marina with great service and facilities.

Wonderful place to visit and knowledgeable dock hand. Also enjoyed a very nice meal at their restaurant and a wonderful walk the following day around the park and town.

Arriver on a Friday night and the dock attendant was sharp and on the ball, helped us with our baggage to hotel. Nice!

We love Smithfield Station and Smithfield. A great place to visit. Docking, you are on your own during the week.

Another great marina stay in Smithfield. Plenty of fun things to do and places to go. Food was great at the restaurant and folks were friendly as usual…..!

Great staff. Pool was awesome and the restaurant was outstanding. Dock worker was great and attentive to the boaters needs and very personable. Very enjoyable stay and we will be back.

This is a great town but the marina is slipping. We have stayed there at least once a year for the past 5 years but it seems the marina is becoming an afterthought to the hotel and restaurant. When we arrived no one was monitoring the vhf and when we called the contact phone number we had to listen to a long automated recording addressing everything but the marina. Once we finally got to speak to someone it was hotel staff that could not help with slip assignment and you can forget about help docking. We were transferred twice only to get cut off and had to call back and go through the same automated recording only to be cut off again. This was pretty irritating since we had spent the last hour trying to out run a storm, which we did only to wait 30 plus mins idling around trying to get a slip assignment. We were finally told to go anywhere that looked open and of course by this time it’s raining sideways and blowing so we dock without any dock hands anywhere to be found. Similar situation last year, could not reach anyone but a hotel clerk that is not much help with marina issues. It’s probably not there fault but the bridge is under construction and the noise is very loud. We tried to go to the pool but you could not hear yourself talk 3 feet away from each other. This should be noted on their website and when booking slips. Come on Smithfield Station, at one time you had your stuff together, let’s see it get back to little more boat friendly. We have been going there since 1997 so I’ve seen you do better.

Kathy and I visited the Smithfield Station for our second visit on 6/29/25 and stayed for four days. Just as our last stay was, this stay was perfect. Same great people, same great dining and drinks at the Smithfield Station restaurant, and same great docks & pool. The fireworks on Wednesday night were an added bonus and were fantastic. We love this place and are already planning our next visit. Mike and Kathy aboard KaM-e-lot.

The food was great! Best soft shell crabs in the 757!! Nice staff. Michael at the dock was very knowledgeable and helpful. Bathrooms were very clean and they were dog friendly.

Nice little marina. Well maintained. This is our 3rd stay there. Smithfield is a nice town to visit. Beautiful old homes. Took one star off this last time because we arrived on Friday afternoon and stayed til Monday morning and we didn’t see anyone working there. Fortunately it’s well protected and we were able to tie up on arrival, and off upon leaving. No one answering channel 16 either.

Great location, great condition with all the amenities except fuel (which isn’t an issue). Lots of dining options within walking distance!

Great weekend! Everyone very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent as always. The staff (Dee especially) and the owners were extremely helpful. Food was great too. Since our group has smaller boats, we were given spaces near the hotel...which ended up being far from the bathhouse, for those who do not shower on their boats. I guess that means we all need to buy bigger boats!! :).....also very convenient for the Bacon and Bourbon festival! We'll be back!

Our stay was wonderful!! Our only complaint is that there needs to be better communication between the marina and the hotel employees. No one in the hotel could tell us where to park the trailer. It was our first time here, and nothing was laid out well as far as where to put in the boat and park the trailer.

Nice marina, good dockhands, a little shallow at the side dock along the hotel's pool and cottages. Down to about 5' when we left, near low tide. The route back out to the James River is also skinny at lower tide. Windsor Castle Park across the street is a gem.
