Newport Yacht Club & Marina (NY Harbor)

Mike was fabulous!! He contacted us immediately after our reservation was confirmed, in addition to 2 hours before our arrival. The location is fabulous with easy access to NYC and many fine restaurants in the area. We draw 5 feet and had plenty of water to enter the basin on a LLW tide.

This marina has well kept docks with a friendly and knowledgeable dockmaster and dockhand who were both present to assist with docking. Jersey City has a lot to offer and this marina is closest to the action.

Mike the dock master was super helpful. Great spot to access Jersey City and NYC. Will be back!!

Once again, Newport Yacht Club & Marina truly felt like coming home. Mike welcomed us back with the same friendliness and hospitality that make this place so special. Every visit reminds us why we love it here — the marina is beautiful, the location couldn’t be more perfect, and the staff always go above and beyond. One of our favorite traditions is catching the sunset with the Statue of Liberty in the background, then taking a family photo back at the dock with the Freedom Tower illuminated behind us. Moments like these make our time here unforgettable. Whether we’re heading into New York City or just enjoying Jersey City, everything is so easy and convenient. It’s one of those rare places where you feel both taken care of and completely relaxed. We’re already looking forward to our next visit — and the many more to come.

The Newport Yacht Club & Marina is awesome. I have been working as a charter captain on the waterways around New York and the Hudson for years and love this dock and Mike's team of professionals. The fairway to the dock is clearly marked and well lit. The dock has perfectly placed cleats, great water pressure and power pedestals. Walk off the dock and your in the middle of a vibrant area of Jersey city with top notch restaurants and shops. Sit on your boat and experience one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline. And don't bother with extra fenders, you won't need them. It's in a surprisingly calm spot tucked away from the Hudson river ferries and their wakes. One of my favorites.

Wow – what a great marina in Jersey City! The docs are all in excellent condition. The area is secure, bright and well lit. There are tons of great restaurants nearby and the dockmaster is highly knowledgeable and more than accommodating. The ferry wakes are not an issue in the marina as well. The power pedestals are all new – in great condition and all power needs are accommodated. I highly recommend Newport yacht club in Jersey City.

Rocking and surging waves are a constant problem. Electrical connections are poor or nonexistent.

We stayed at Newport Marina for 2 nights and it was a great experience! Mike and the other staff were really helpful and on top of everything! The view is great, the docks are nice, and the harbor wakes don’t make it into the marina very much at all. Also, the location is really good….easy access to the train and any shopping you might need. Will definitely be back!

Great area to walk around. Roast’d had the best coffee… easy to walk to. Dock Master was very helpful both before we arrived and during arrival. He even sent us a pic of our boat coming in the channel. Very safe and secure. Would go again

Amazing location and customer service!! Everything we needed was a short walk a way and the Path was so close for a convenient and quick ride to Manhattan. Highly recommend!!

It's a very nice, unique location. Not sure you could call it a marina. It's a place in the city to dock with water and power. It's in a nice part of the city. We are fine because we don't use marina amenities anyway. It's a little rocky during the day from harbor traffic. It does calm down at night. It's a little pricey but a real nice stop. The sights at night are beautiful. Marina staff was very nice and helpful

I recently had two vessel's stay with Newport Harbor Marina. The service was nothing short of fantastic. Dockmaster Mike was very responsive and accommodating, even for my last-minute docking request's. The Marina itself was close to my crew's accommodations and other logistical needs. The docks are well protected from the Hudson River traffic and are in excellent condition. We frequent the area and will definitely be back. The detailed approach instructions were also critical for a safe inbound and outbound transit.

This is a very small marina with limited amenities however the dockmaster, Mike, makes up for that with excellent attention and service. The marina docks are new and in excellent condition with security gate, and located right in the downtown area of the newly built heart of Jersey City. It is also well protected from the rollers that plague the Hudson during the day and the slips are oriented to minimize that even more. Mike will also arrange for truck delivery of diesel for transients which is a huge convenience and savings. Book early as there is limited dockage available.

Hello all Captains, I will make this short but efficient. I was in the NY region with a 92' M/Y. Staff (Mike) was very helpful and accommodating for our specific needs. On the web page they placed an advisory about the channel entrance... NO BIG DEAL!!! If you can manage RRR,,, LOL.. Easy entrance... when inside. Close to many restaurants and services in a very nice neighborhood. Enjoyed your stay. Real!!

We recently stayed at the Newport Jersey City Marina, and it was an outstanding experience. A very long and convenient floating face dock makes docking a breeze. Water pressure on the docks is excellent, and the marina offers reliable 50/100 Amp power pedestals, which is perfect for larger vessels. The views of the New York City skyline are nothing short of breathtaking, especially during the evening hours when the city lights up. It's incredibly convenient being within walking distance of essential stores like Home Depot and ShopRite, plus there are plenty of nearby restaurants, bars, and cafes (Starbucks is on the same block, as is Battello, a fantastic upscale Italian restaurant). If you're looking to head into the city, public transportation is also in walking distance, and it's just a quick 15-minute subway ride to downtown Manhattan, making it a great location for those wanting to experience NYC without the hassle. For transients, the marina is a fantastic spot to provision (ShopRite and Morton Williams Supermarket are both walking distance), and it's also well-suited for longer stays. The marina is well-protected, with little to no wake from the Hudson River. The marina is gated and keeps tourists off the docks. Mike the dockmaster is exceptionally helpful, always ready to assist with lines. The channel into the marina is well marked and documented. Overall, Newport Yacht Club & Marina is a top-notch choice for both short and long stays. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for dockage in the NYC/NJ area! Capt. Thomas, M/Y Moonlighter II.

Perfect location to be out of the swell that the Ferries leave on the Hudson River. Mike was exceptionally helpful with all our needs and will definitely recommend this Marina for anyone who wants peace and relaxation. Close to the Mall, restaurants and a Starbucks nearby.

We were looking for a dock and dine in the NYC/NJ area, the Newport marina in Jersey City is next door to Battello with stunning views of lower Manhattan. Their communication over the phone regarding dock availability and making reservations was prompt and kind. From there, I was instructed to contact Mike, the harbor master, half hour before arrival. They knew I was a first time user of their facility. Mike was super helpful. He sent us a map of the approach and then showed up at the dock to guide my course over the phone and grabbed our lines at the dock. We had a great dinner and a great experience, couldn't wish for anything more. We plan on returning as it was a blast.
