Log Pond Marina

We were scheduled to stay at this marina but ultimately made other arrangements after being unable to reach anyone upon arrival. Approximately 10–15 minutes before arriving, we called both the marina and office phone numbers multiple times, sent text messages, and hailed the marina on VHF channels 16 and 9 to request a slip assignment and arrival instructions. Unfortunately, we received no response through any method of communication. After waiting and needing to secure dockage for the evening, we chose to stay at a nearby marina instead. About two hours later, a deckhand contacted us and explained there had been a personal emergency, which we certainly understand and sympathize with. However, from a boater’s perspective, arriving at an unfamiliar marina without any response by phone or radio was frustrating and left us without the support we expected. Emergencies happen, and we appreciate the explanation. That said, marinas should have a backup communication plan in place when possible, especially for arriving vessels seeking docking instructions. Based on our experience, communication was lacking, and unfortunately we were unable to stay here.

Great marina spend the weekend while enjoying the beautiful city of Havre de Grace, MD. The marina has its own pump out, clean facilities, grill, and washer and dryers.
