A Truly Special Marina Experience As usual, we had a wonderful stay at the Mystic Seaport Museum Marina. The setting is absolutely unique because we have access to the museum grounds before and after hours. Walking the docks and historic village at sunrise and sunset is magical. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere is serene. The marina staff is the nicest group of people we have encountered at any marina! The new Lego Shipwreck exhibit is so interesting and fun! We highly recommend this marina to anyone cruising through Mystic. This is the only marina we stay at in Mystic.
Marina Response:
So glad you enjoyed the experience

Greg Zabel, dockmaster, and his crew were phenomenally helpful and friendly people. It’s these kind of folks that you love to meet when coming into Port for a little holiday.

One of the loveliest places to visit by boat, the magic of Mystic Seaport Museum never disappoints. The dock staff is courteous, knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating. The floating docks are kept in impeccable condition. Add to this the terrific boater facilities, including spotless and spacious bathrooms. Once again, we look forward to our next visit.

Excellent dockmaster anddockhands who were very helpful. They even noticed that Dockwa failed to calculate the discount we were due because of our membership and they input it so we would get it. Had a good dinner at the restaurant in their hotel overlooking where we were tied up.

We didn’t plan to stay in Mystic, but weather on the Sound forced us to find a place to hole up for a few days during the off-season. Getting a spot at the Seaport Museum ended up being the best “happy accident” of our entire voyage. To reach the museum, you transit the river and both bridges, which gives you a chance to see all the other marinas along the way. After seeing them firsthand, I can confidently say the museum docks are by far the best. The facilities were excellent, with spacious showers and free laundry, and as an added bonus you get full access to the museum itself. The location is also ideal—easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and groceries. Staff are very helpful, and Steve even stayed past hours to help us come into the dock. 10/10 we would absolutely stay here again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Such a great place to stay. The bathroom/shower/laundry room is super nice with private stalls. It truly a magical place at night. Quick dingy ride or walk to town. Coffee shop on premises is so convenient. We are already planning a return trip!

Totally perfect stay. Dock staff is always fantastic. Don’t let Mystic River and bridges scare you. Wind and current are never an issue. The grounds and amenities are awesome.

Great stay at this historic museum. The docks are easy access and floating. You could spend several days here just viewing all the exhibits and craftsmen at work. The town is a nice flat walk along the river and has some great shops and restaurants.

We came in mid-September for two nights. The museum is probably the best maritime museum, with a living village, ongoing restorations and has to be experienced to be believed. You’ll be right on the grounds! Also great facilities and walking to restaurants and shops. 11/10, will come again.

Great helpful staff at the marina. Truly enjoyed our stay there spending several days taking in the displays and interacting with museum staff and the live reenactments. Recommend to all marinas and the like.

So happy we became members back in August. The grounds workers are so helpful and welcoming. Learned about great opportunities that we can enjoy on future visits.

Excellent. Docking staff was very helpful. We are older people so this made a big difference for us. They assigned a spot where it was easy to get on and off as well as docking. The Village is so well kept and personnel is outstanding.

Always very accommodating. Love it there. My favorite place.

Loved it! Probably one of, if not THE nicest place we’ve been. The sunset was fabulous as was the sunrise. Waking up among the tall ships like the Charles W Morgan was breathtaking. The dock accommodations were exceptional. Very well organized. The biggest bonus was everyone on board, 8 in our case, received free admission to the Mystic Seaport Museum. Highly recommended!!

The Dock Master and staff were absolutely wonderful. Very easy docking and departing. Our son (6) thought being at the museum overnight was just the coolest. Such a great experience and stay.

About Mystic Seaport Museum

Mystic Seaport Museum provides an ideal destination, especially for those traveling by boat. Located on the charming and historic Mystic River, we are a short distance from Long Island Sound and offer well-protected docks that are north of both the Mystic River Highway Bridge and the Amtrak Mystic Railroad Bridge. We recently installed 820' floating docks and updated shore power offerings.

Boaters and their guests receive complimentary museum admission while docked at Mystic Seaport. We invite you to stroll through our 19th-century seafaring village, climb aboard historic vessels, and explore exhibit halls. After visitors are gone for the day, our guests have the unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty of our grounds in the evening, an experience reported by many to be the most magical part of their stay.

Dockage also includes free wireless internet, water, and additional amenities. Downtown Mystic, located just a short walk from Mystic Seaport, offers a variety of dining and shopping options. We look forward to your visit and will do whatever possible to make your stay with us an enjoyable and memorable one.

The Amtrak Mystic Railroad Bridge opens on demand when no train traffic is present. The Mystic River Highway Bridge opens 40 minutes after the hour when requested. Both bridges can be hailed on channel 13.

In the off-season, please excuse any delay in response as our dock staff works part-time. Requests are checked once a day, Monday-Friday.
