Darien river front marina is a great little stop with much to see and do in the area. Great restaurants and super hardware store within a couple of blocks. We were greeted by Dan the dockmaster who was very helpful and informative of the area. Will definitely stop here again if the opportunity presents itself.

Our third time up to Darien. It's a great stop with a new Tap Room in an historic building and a new waterfront restaurant, tackle shop. Plenty of depth to get up and down the river at mid+ tide. Just stay in the marked deeper spots. Don't use Navionics auto-route here. Current and debris is no joke though. Dan the dockmaster was super friendly and helpful. Go into the chocolate shop a few blocks away and the Fort (biking distance).

Bob the dock master was there as we arrived. It was Easter Sunday so the town was quiet except for the tabby bar. Had a little debris collected by morning but it as easy to get out. Wish there had been bathrooms. Saw two bald eagles on mile markers 20and24 as we left

Dan, the dock master was excellent! He helped us dock in a strong current & helped us depart in the same. He told us about the town, where to go for good food & drink & told us about the magnificent tree there. The floating docks are in great shape. No restrooms but power & water. Great value, quiet night. We enjoyed our stay in Darien.
Marina Response:
I am happy that you enjoyed your stay. Please come and visit in the future.

Great stay! Dan the Dockmaster was a huge help! Darien was a cute town ..well worth the stop - we stayed an extra day to replace a water pump and glad that we did!
Marina Response:
I talked with Kent ( the one who repaired your boat) and will use his services in the future. I am glad everything worked out on your repairs and please come visit Darien again. Dan

Darien was a nice stop. We thought it was worth the slight detour off the beaten path. Dan was super helpful and beyond accommodating. Great wine bar in town and some solid shopping and dining options.
Marina Response:
We appreciate the great review and hope you will come visit us again and stay longer. Safe travels.

This marina has a great chance to draw many more boaters transiting north or south along the ICW but it has some fallbacks. It is a great staging location before transiting the Mud River going South, one of the worst shoaled areas. The Dockmaster is great although she is located in a building about 2 blocks away and only works by phone. The town is quaint and charming. A couple of great places to eat. A really great and reasonable vegetable market and great fresh shrimp. There is also a high end Chocolate shop/manufacturer that is to die for. The docks though are the problem. There are 2. One is a dock located behind a great restaurant, Skippers. No Water or Power but stay for 48 hours free. The other docks are $1ft includes water and electric. The problem is that there are many full time people here so space is limited and there are only 30amp connectors and on 4 connectors for the entire dock so we were left without power. No reason for this, the town needs to add enough power pedestals for the amount of boats here and add some 50amp connectors. I would come back again if this problem was fixed and derelict looking boats are removed to allow more room for transients.
