Nice and very helpful staff. The courtesy car was a really helpful amenity... much appreciated. The docks are in great shape, not floating but the fact that the dock mate met us at the dock and handled the lines was very nice and made docking a breeze.
Today
The marina is under new management and are working diligently to get everything up and running. It's not perfect yet, pools under repair, restaurant is getting some renovations but I still would go back.
*Bonus-saw two beautiful doe, lots of birds and fish jumping in the marina!

Great marina. We like family owned marinas. Dowry has attentive staff. There is pump out at your slip. Fuel is available at some of the slips. The Salty Crab is a fun restaurant at the marina. There is a courtesy car available and a salt water pool. The bathrooms are very nice and they supply towels. We have been here 5 times and never been disappointed. The marina is going through an ownership change and restaurant is closed temporarily but are plenty of choices in Belhaven

Great place to stay. Dockmaster stayed until 8 PM to fuel us up after hours.

The marina has just changed hands. The docks are as before. Thed restaurant was not open, but the lounge and bathrooms are nice. There could be some better lighting along the docks. Needed help to dock because of wind which was provided.

Things have changed here. The marina was just sold. One girl runs the office and dock. She was great, but doing the work of two people. The restaurant is closed. No loaner car. No liquor license, so can't sell the beer in the cooler. Bathrooms are so, so. Laundry is filthy. Pool is closed, but that may be seasonal. The new owner was nowhere in sight, which doesn't bode well for the future. Fair wind protection except from the SE.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us. We recently took ownership of the marina and are actively working through improvements that come with any transition. We appreciate your kind words about our team member in the office and on the dock. She has done a great job helping guests during this changeover, and we are continuing to build the team to better support operations. A few updates for future visitors: a courtesy loaner car will be available, the pool is currently under renovation and is expected to reopen around Memorial Day, the restaurant is not operating this season and is not being advertised as open so guests can plan accordingly, and we are addressing cleanliness and maintenance items including the laundry and restroom areas as well as there are new staff members training this week. Ownership does not need to be physically present daily for a marina to be well managed. Our focus is on having the right staff in place, responding to guest needs, and steadily improving the property and amenities. Good rates. Too early for swimming pool. New owner Scott is young, ambitious and very helpful in docking, pump out. Towels supplied in showers are a nice touch. Clubhouse is great, open 24 hrs wit tv, books, games, air conditioning among other amenities. He didn’t have the store open yet. Free washers and dryers also a nice touch although they need work and I’m sure he’ll be on it. At the time they are one of the lowest in fuel prices.

Fantastic facility! They were already closed for the Christmas holiday, folks from different boats, came to help us stock and invited us to a potluck dinner. We will stop in again anytime we are in the area…

We spent a full week at this marina and truly enjoyed every moment. It’s a very cozy and welcoming place with everything a boater may need — fuel dock, pump-out service, and docks in excellent condition.
The free laundry was a great bonus, and the marina store is well stocked with a nice selection of wines and basic groceries. We also had a wonderful dinner at the local restaurant — the sirloin steak was excellent.
The restrooms and showers are very clean and comfortable, and towels are provided, which is a big plus. There is plenty of space to walk our dogs, which we really appreciated. We were also able to use a courtesy car and drive to a nearby grocery store.
Most of all, we are grateful to the marina staff — they are friendly, professional, and ready to help from early morning until late evening. We are very happy we chose to spend a week at this marina and would gladly return.

We only stayed one night but everything was fine and the staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of room to walk our dogs too. Only disappointment was to find out that the restaurant was closed. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing but it was unexpected because there's no mention of the closure on the website.

Beautiful little marina. Friendly, helpful staff; great restaurant; free laundry. Guy in a big catamaran based there even offered to do a grocery run! Top notch all the way!

Everyone was very nice and helpful. We greatly appreciate their courtesy car and that they provide towels in the showers. Free laundry and nice restaurant are big pluses as well. There is nothing nearby but the courtesy car makes things in town accessible. We had nearby diesel mechanic Frank Smith of Sea Power (252 402 5800, not affiliated with the marina) come to check our Yanmar that seemed to be burning oil. He was very helpful.
Only drawback would be if a big storm was blowing from the south as there is not much protection from that direction.
Second review: the marina staff continue to shine. They are very pleasant, helpful and accommodating.

Very friendly, quiet marina. Channel markings were good. The restaurant had good variety and friendly staff. Laundry was free, but we did not need it. Just watch your first step in the laundry room door.

Easy access to the marina, super friendly staff, and the restaurant was very good (with a diverse choice of beers!). The only negative is that it is a little remote, but the staff offered a ride to the store and the neighborhood near by provides a nice waterfront walk.

Great facility, great staff. We look forward to staying in Dowry Creek going north or south. Free laundry and a ility to fuel up in your slip are definite pluses. The restaurant is the added bonus! Great pricing, quality food and cheap drinks!
