Canyon Club is a wonderful facility, well-cared for and professionally staffed.

The restaurant has closed, but the friendly staff offers shuttle service into town where there’s lots to do and see in the historic town. We would recommend it.

BEWARE of docking at this marina. I have a 41’ Boston Whaler with a 3’-7” draft. We booked a one-night stay and arrived on May 19 around 12:40 p.m. The following day, we planned to leave at 6:00 a.m. Much to our surprise, the boat’s hull was resting on the bottom in 1’-6” of water, our outboards were embedded in the mud/sediment, and our AC strainers were also filled with sediment. Three other boats were in the same condition-stuck. After two hours of removing the mud from the engines and strainers, the tide rose and we were able to shove off and leave. We were told the low water condition was because of the full moon. Hogwash! Upon reading prior reviews, the low water condition has been known by this marina for a long time and is therefore a pre-existing condition. I will return to Cape May but will NOT stay at this marina. Ken S.

I have a 48’ Viking which requires 4.5 foot of depth and we booked a one night stay and got there approximately 1:30pm on Wednesday May 19th and they knowingly put us in a slip.that at low tide was only 1 1/2’ of water and in the morning when we went to leave the props were well into the mud.. After a 2hr delay we were able to get out with all clogged sea srainers and a/c units now clogged with mud going off on high temperatures. Not Recommended.

I was very disappointed and we moved after the first night. We were placed at the end of a 50 slip dock, getting to the bath house and taking the dog for a walk / bathroom was a chore. There was nothing around, you either have to walk to town, over busy bridge / roads or take an Uber. Because we were docked so far away from their internet receiver on slip 50, we could not get internet reception. On the positive, the grounds were clean, well manicured and the marina was easy to get into.
Marina Response:
requesting to be close to the head of the dock for reasons mentioned could have been an easy fix.

Great marina and friendly staff

Great marina. We stopped for 1 night on our way south. There's fuel pumps all along the docks so you can get fuel right in your slip. Staff are friendly. There's a pool we didn't get a chance to use but we'll definitely stop here again sometime.

Didn't get confirmation via Dockwa so we called. DM not happy we called. Wanted to fuel but he insisted we go to slip and fuel there. He never came. Not enough cleats. Very shallow.

Called multiple times to tell them we were inexperienced boaters and our docking prowess needed an easy entry...."No problem". Told them our boat type, length and beam..."we do boats much bigger than that, no problem". Called day prior and hours prior to confirm our arrival time and try to get our slip assignment. We got to the marina opening and were told to hold, they were reassigning our slip...lots of current and having to hold in the middle of the mouth to the Cape May canal. Gave us a slip assignment about a third of a way down a tight fairway, stern in. VERY tight spin around in the fairway to a slip where we were against the piling on the port side and had literally 2 inches clearance from the cement floating pier on the starboard side. No room for a fender. Dock hands seemed inexperienced and waiting for direction on what needed done by my wife. Spent the night and after multiple sportfishers and a couple loopers extending past the T-head left, we walked to Utsch's to see if they had room....they were full. Walked over to the South Jersey Marina where we were met with friendly, professional staff, a we can help you out demeanor, a location right in the center of multiple restaurants without having to walk over a very busy bridge, AWESOME facilities and a "we're happy to have you" attitude. Canyon Club pool was AWESOME but we didn't get help from the staff and the bath house was just OK. Blue Marlin Tournament coming up the weekend we needed room and it seems like all focus was geared toward their support. CC reservation was made months in advance. Dockmaster wouldn.t come down to lay eyes on the slip width issue. When asked about how it all went wrong, all the was said was "that's a wide boat", I can give you a slip big enough for your boat but you are going to have to leave a day short of how long we needed to stay for a grandson's b-day. No accommodation given. All in all a GREAT training evolution and it worked out MUCH better for us on every count on the other side of the canal at SJM.

Very nice marina. We came in close to low tide, with a draft of 3 ft., which kicked up a lot of mud. It made me nervous, but everything was fine. The dockhand was very nice and helpful. It was an extremely windy afternoon.

Convenient location. Staff not very friendly. Was told someone would help us dock and no one arrived. Bathrooms okay. Showers are super small. Pool was nice. Free shuttle service to town.

Amazing marina everything is first class! Amazing staff top to bottom. Great slips, nice store & awesome pool.

The dock was fine, but because there is no restaurant we asked the dock hands... they indicated restaurants were in walking distance... well, the Uber ride to the closest restaurant was $19. A restaurant recommended by the dockmaster... anyway - back to the marina after dinner... the whole marina smells of dead fish. Dozens of dead floating horshoe crab carcasses floating in the marina...I counted 11 just in our slip in the morning. Any lines that touched the water stank awful immediately. I suppose some are just this way - but the smell of all the death first thing in the morning sure hit us wrong. Its definatly more a fisherman's yacht yard - 80% of the boats were fishing boats.... not the odor us transients were looking for.
