This was my third trip to Ipswich and to IBYC. Claudia was especially helpful extendng my mooring for another night. The mooring tackle is beefy and my boat was secure in the VERY strong currents that run in Ipswich Bay. I blessed the prior transient, who thoughtfully left the pennants on top of the large mooring buoy. Those who let pennants dangle in the water do a disservice to those who follow since it's MUCH harder to retrieve them AND they're usually heavily fouled. My only complaint is that launch service on August 30th was very slow since one of two launches needed service and wasn't running.

2nd year making this trip and everything was great! Easy booking thru Dockwa , convenient (and courteous) launch services, delicious dining at the yacht club and spectacular views from our mooring. We hope to continue this yearly trip.

Very Friendly, easy access.
Beautiful area All staff was top notch from the Launch operators , dock hands with fuel and ice to the restaurant.
Communication with Dockmadter prior to our arrival was spot on also.

Had another wonderful stay at IBYC. The new dockmaster Claudia took great care of us. The launch is quick and efficient. The restaurant and views are both as good as it gets. Will be back often!

Friendly, active club. The charts are TOTALLY useless, as the area is tidal. Coast Guards resets the approach, up the river each year. Call IBYC for guidance, and reassurance coming in, as local knowledge is what it is all about!

About Ipswich Bay Yacht Club
Ipswich Bay Yacht Club is a private club founded in 1940 and located in Ipswich, MA on Plum Island Sound. The facilities consist of the club house with a dining room and a waterfront with a large floating dock. These facilities are for the exclusive use of members and their guests. However, we offer guest moorings for cruisers desiring to visit the area - up to 10 evenings per summer. Launch service is available every day between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Gasoline and diesel are available to the public.
Your Mooring Rental includes:
~Unlimited Launch service during posted hours.
~Use of our dining room overlooking Plum Island and Ipswich Bay.
~Use of Restrooms & Showers.
Transient boating guests may request an access card (one only) that unlocks the pier gate, unlocks the restrooms/showers, and is required upon entering the restaurant. The $50 card deposit (and refund) is posted to your Dockwa account on the credit card you used to book the reservation.
Your party's use of the dining room is restricted to you and your vessel passengers only. Mooring rental does NOT allow for dockage at floats. You may not bring boat or dinghy to dock, except to refuel. Mooring rental does NOT include use of our club dinghies..
Our restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday, dinner only. Enjoy your stay!
