Great protected mooring field with plenty of spacing between boats. Easy entrance. Captain Jim guided us right to our mooring from the launch. Launch drivers very nice. Good dinghy dock. Showers clean with lots of hooks and a bench for stuff. Fuel, oump out, water dock help was very professional and handled lots of baots in and out calmly. Great restaurant and breakfast place right at dock. Marine Mart nearby with good selection. Next to ferry to NYC for sightseeing.

We love staying here. We’ve been here many times over the years. The launch captains are wonderful and very helpful. The town is quite nice with many restaurants to choose from and there’s a beautiful walking trail along the bay. Great sunsets and you can see New York City in the distance. It’s a great place to stop between ocean travel and a trip up the Hudson. It’s our favorite place to visit.

Another wonderful stay at Atlantic Highlands YC. There's a reason we keep coming back here for weekend trips. The setting, the people - hands down the friendliest launch operators you'll ever meet - an easily navigable mooring field, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and great sailing in Sandy Hook Bay. Memorable bonus on our most recent trip was the six pods of dolphins that followed us over for more than half our sail. Planning to do it again before the season ends.

Staff was wonderful and immediately answered VHF when called. We will stay again if in the area.
I have anchored in the area before, but we decided a mooring ball would be good with a nasty front rolling in. They accommodated us quickly. The only issue was the first ball we were assigned was charted at 6' and we draw over that. Attempting to reach that ball, we drug ground.... They quickly found us a new ball. It's super easy to get to the dock with their launch which comes quickly when called. Beautiful sunsets!

We are back at AHYC 3 weeks later because it offers such great service and protection in the bay.
Excellent choice to stay a few nights! Very friendly and helpful staff. Lucky for us, Captains Jim and Bill were on duty during our stay. We accidentally and in a rush left hatches open when rain was on its way and we were off the boat in NYC. Bill closed and secured the hatches for us and communicated completion of the task. As a result, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our City visit. Jim gave us excellent information about sailing in Long Island Sound and timing our sail through Hell Gate. The round-trip ferry from Atlantic Highlands to NYC for two of us was less than $100 and very convenient! We'll return to Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club Mooring Field on our return trip to Florida.

We were unable to reserve a mooring, but anchored at the eastern end of the anchorage behind breakwater. The launch drivers were first class. We should have stayed on boat, but went ashore for dinner. Heavy rain ensued with lightning. The launch driver called around 2000 hours to keep us updated to be able to jump if we got a window. I thought we might have to find a hotel, but he called back around 2045 saying it was now or never. We got on the launch, he got us back aboard our boat, getting soaked. A lot of operators would’ve gone home, but our driver showed a high level of care. We really appreciate his service.

We spent 5 nights waiting for a weather window south. The staff and membership could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The launch operated until 2100 while we were there, allowing us to visit NYC and local restaurants. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay in this protected mooring area at Atlantic Highlands. The launch service is excellent. Dinner at the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club was excellent. Walking the streets around the marina was relaxing, and beautiful, surrounded by wonderful old homes, all well kept .
This safe and sheltered area boasts easy access to NYC, south shore of Long Island, and Sandy Hook. The launch service is excellent. Atlantic Highlands is a charming little town with beautiful walking areas.

My stay at the Atlantic Highlands job club. Mooring Field was the best it could’ve been. A storm came through and I felt very safe and secure. In addition staff from the Dockwa customer service department , the bartender at the Yacht Club and the drivers of the tender were professional and caring. Our stay couldn’t have been better

A very nice protected anchorage. The launch drivers were prompt and friendly. Ashore there are many shops and a few restaurants and bars, but it is a 3/4 mile hike to a good grocery store for provisions. We did not use any of the marina/yacht clubs facilities, but the buildings looked nice and well maintained.

We picked up a mooring just inside the breakwater and had a minimum of 10 feet of water depth. Great launch service that was prompt and worked until 2200 in the evening and was complementary. Fuel doc was also friendly and prompt. A charming town is located within 10 to 15 minute walk. A great stay.

AHYC Launch drivers are the best. Friendly and careful. Mooring held through strong squall, another boat at anchor dragged onto the beach. We were glad to be safe on the mooring.

Welcome to the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club!
Since its founding in 1953, the mission of the AHYC has been to attract and bring together dedicated individuals who share a mutual respect for the sea, and to encourage and advance all aspects of boating, yacht racing, and on-water activities, including offering a welcome and safe haven to yachtsmen and yachtswomen who visit the harbor.
Located within the protected Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, AHYC maintains the reputation of being a convenient and popular stopover for boaters - cruising or in transit - as we are close to Sandy Hook and New York Harbor. We offer secure moorings and launch service to transiting sailboats, up to 50' in length, from mid-May to early November.
Our facilities include the moorings and launch service and a second story club house with spectacular views of Sandy Hook Bay and the New York City skyline. All our mooring guests are invited to visit our club, meet our members, enjoy a meal and cocktail, and partake in the friendship that is the AHYC. The inviting bar is well stocked, and the galley offers varied food menus.
Shower and bathroom facilities are provided by the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor, not the AHYC. Access keys are available from the Launch Drivers during normal operating hours. Check our website, www.ahyc.net, for the daily launch schedule.
Visitors should be aware that we can not accommodate power vessels of any length or sailboats greater than 50' in length on our moorings due to Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor policy; dock slips for these vessels may be obtained by contacting the harbor office on Ch 09. Dockwa reservations are for transient moorings only.
