These people know how to run a harbor!!! Every single person we interacted with was helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. They understand the needs of commercial fishers and go out of their way to make everything easier.

We came in on our way down to San Francisco for fuel and showers. I called the fuel dock ahead of time to confirm that it would be open. No sign of life on the morning we had to depart so no fuel for us. Hope the wind fills in. Similarly we waited for 30 minutes for the security guard to return our call or unlock the showers. No response. Are government run marinas always worse than privately run marinas?

Thank you for your review, Richard I am not sure why the fuel dock was unopen as they are a separate entity from us however, I will pass this review along in hopes that the service will be better in the future. As for the showers we are currently working on getting a fob system running so that boaters don't have to wait in the future. I will also speak with our team and ensure that this wait time doesn't occur in the future. I unfortunately do not have an answer to your question about government ran marinas, but I do hope that this reassures you that we are going to correct the issues that arouse while you were here. We hope you have a wonderful and safe journey down to San Francisco.

for the price i was charged and i had to call to get a shower? fix your marina please spend a dollar and fix the gate keys. This is the only marina i have ever stayed at where i was worried my boat would get robbed. with the tweekers standing in the parking lot and unlocked gates

Crescent City Marina is nothing short of fantastic. The docks are in great shape, we were assigned a nice slip, and the electric worked with no issues. The staff at the marina are super nice, and they helped us with restaurant advice, as well as receiving some boat parts for us. The dining close to the marina is great, with our favorite being the fishermans restaurant right on the corner. All in all a perfect experience.

Unfortunately, my stay in the harbor slips was not as enjoyable as usual. My boat was in the G dock slips, and none of the water was working on the entire G dock. Also, the same company that is responsible for the water is also responsible for the key fobs for the security gates, restrooms and showers and they also didn't work. The harbor either needs to get that company to get things fixed ASAP, or find a different company. Everyone that pays the money for staying in the slips deserves that, we're paying the harbor to have those amenities.
