When we arrived at the harbor there was thick fog. We requested help from the Harbor master and were told they couldn't get a boat out to us. We spent an hour on the phone with them trying to find the mooring they wanted to put us on. The nearby yacht club tried as well to no avail. After an hour the Harbor master came out and said that mooring was not right for our boat! They moved us to a mooring in the outer harbor which had no launch service. It was a 3 mile walk into town. We were virtually maroon as I didn't want to use the dinghy after dark.

Sorry Barry you had a bad experience. We tried our best to help you get to the mooring. We can only book moorings based on what is indicated on the reservation. If you visit us again i hope you have a better experience. This was our first year running the transient mooring program. We hope to see you again soon. I recently had the pleasure of mooring my boat Tipping Point at Barnstable Harbor (Hyannis Port) and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The Harbor Master and their team truly went above and beyond in providing exceptional service.
I was particularly impressed when they found my dinghy, which had gone adrift. Their prompt action and attention to detail saved me a lot of trouble and stress.
The mooring itself was excellent, providing a secure and comfortable stay.
I highly recommend Barnstable Harbor for anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming place to moor their boat. The dedication and professionalism of the Harbor Master and their team are second to none.

About Hyannis - Fish Hills
This mooring is located in Fish Hills there is only one mooring. This is a small mooring area for smaller vessels up to 35" and is located near a federal channel with busy commerical and recreational vessel traffic.
Harbormaster staff is not on location 24/7. You can request assistance and we will respond if available VHF09 or 508-790-6273.
Fish Hills mooring (FH) is the inner most harbor mooring area in Lewis Bay.
Approach Hyannis from the HH buoy. Follow the federal channel into the inner harbor. Mooring fields are again separated by locations indicated above. See map/chart for more information. Requesting certain moorings is available when booking but not guaranteed.
Need help call us at 508-790-6273 or contact us on VHF09. Again, the Harbormasters office is not staffed 24/7.
We have a municipal marina (Bismore Park Marina) in close proximately that can assist with temporary tie-up, fresh water and a pumpout service. Small vessel storage (dinghy) is available in this mooring area.
